Harriet Finck
After some years as an architect, Harriet turned to making collage and paintings, as well as teaching. Scraps and fragments of her own work became repetitive marks on a page, which sometimes became Hebrew words. She calls her work, which is mostly acrylic on paper, "organic abstraction", where tiny marks become swarms, and geologic, astronomic and cellular images are influential. Matthew Apol (MFA Syracuse) is an artist, educator, and curator based in Lancaster, PA with his partner and their children. Having lived across SD, MI, NJ, NY, CA, and PA, he carries a sense of statelessness that shapes his understanding of what it means to belong—or not belong —somewhere. His research engages themes of labor, tribalism, violence, social engineering, and greed. This research materializes as a combination of manufactured images and material-based objects, the formal result of which is mostly displayed on walls.

Tatiana Mesa Paján (b. 1981, Havana, Cuba) is a process-based artist exploring memory, displacement, belonging, and the poetics of everyday gestures through performance, installation, printmaking, artist books, and prose. Informed by Afro-Cuban cosmologies, Indigenous Caribbean relationships with nature, and Western collecting traditions, she creates intentionally incomplete archives that ask: What is a human? Wells–Becerra uses painting, drawing, printmaking, and animation to reinforce the importance of our bodies' relationship to our environment. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, where she studied the figure as well as traditional techniques. She then received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida. There, she began employing concepts of metamorphosis in her work, resulting in figures merging with botanical elements. Alex Koutny’s ceramic work uses unconventional tools and implements in a vigorous and extractive process of removing clay from a large, partially formed, angular mass. By slicing, gouging, scooping, chipping, tearing, and related acts of negation, a final form is revealed. His process is informed by interpretations of the interplay between industrial structures and anatomy.

Julia Duva
